Smooth drinkin. This was a good Pinot Noir and the first Australian Pinot that I have tried also. Of course, any wine with Australia stamped on the front of it seems incapable of dissapointment. At $5.99, it is a steal (but don’t raise prices please). Pinot Noir is a very versatile wine, nothing really comes across too striking to give a bad impression from start to finish.

Pepperwood Grove makes damn fine products. It seems that all I do is write about them lately and I am on a quest to try all their wines before my boss does. Yeah, I’m callin you out foo and to the victor go the spoils of wine.
This merlot is one of the better merlots that I have had thus far but my experience with this grape is limited. At $5.99, this wine was definitely a great buy. I could not decipher a specific fruit in the aroma to describe the wine, but the aroma was intense regardless. Textures sided with light acidity and soft tannins but nothing too overpowering. I find the Pinot Noirs and the Merlots a good stepping stone towards the Cabernet Sauvignon, as your palate improves.

An unusual find from Trader Joes.
This wine is a mixture of 80% Garnacha (Granache) and 20% Tempranillo, I am not familiar with Tempanilla, but they both get the thumbs up when combined.
A light and fresh red wine with a well rounded long finish. This wine has a light spice smell. The taste has forward fruit, a very slight sour body with soft tannis. The ending is nice and long.
This is a good wine and for the price, the taste is even better. I suggest you pick up a case today.

Damn good wine. I am becoming one of Pepperwood Gove’s biggest fans (where is my t-shirt). I have been on a quest to find and try every Pepperwood Grove product that I can get my hands on. When I am in the grocery store I get really excited when I see that familiar green label with a type of grape that I have not sampled yet.

So Australia Can have mediocre wine?
Yes, it can!
This wine is so-so, especially when compared with all the good Cabernet Sauvignons I’ve been drinking in the past few weeks. Anything unusual about this wine is not positive. If you’re in the store, looking for a good Australian wine (wich isn’t hard to do), I can not suggest this wine.
The wine has a slight metallic taste to it, with hints of plum. The finish of the wine is overly bold and oaky for what the taste offers, and it lasts very long.

One of my favorite wines.
I came across Pepperwood Grove Cabernet Sauvignon during Thanksgiving time in 2004. I’ve always grown up in a family that drinks varied types of wines during the holidays, so I can always look forward to something interesting when celebrating.
I remember my first glass of Pepperwood back in 2004, thinking what an unusual flavor. I commented to a cousin what an unusual wine it was, but was informed it was a Cabernet Sauvignon. Looking around on the buffet table I found the bottle, pleased to see it was, infact, a Cabernet. The romance has not stopped since, I continually come back to Pepperwood Grove.

Wow, no writers-block created with this wine. After trying this baby I could not resist the urge to tell people about it.
At $7.99, $8.99, $9.99 or well um er I don’t remember how much I paid for this gem, but let me tell you it was worth every penny. The nose has a distinct dark cherry aroma, but not overly intense. The body is rich in character, slight oak hints quickly fade as soon as they appear, followed by subtle tannin highlights. All-around wellbalanced fruit with smooth textures make you want to stop whatever you are doing and ejoy life with a glass of this beauty. This is Definitely a higher quality Cab, and you find out if you do that.

Decent Merlot, Maybe. I don’t know enough about merlots to be a good judge of character, but this is an ok selection for the novise Merlot drinker. At $6.99, the nose was pretty bold with hints of plum, black cherry, and oak. The taste was light on flavor that was short-lived, followed by subtle tannin. Usually if a wine has tannin highlights it should also be backed up with bold long-lasting flavors but such is not the case with this wine.
