Chateau Nenine Premieres Cotes de Bordeaux 2002
July 31st, 2006
I really liked this wine. I started thinking this was a 3.5 star wine and as I drank more I wanted to kick it up to 4.o. But after further review and consulting with my colleague, I reamain with my 3.5 rating.
The aromas are light with hints of cherry and plumb. The body was very smooth with and oaky flavor and a strong metallic aftertaste. The wine had a lot of forward fruit but did seem overly dry throughout. I found this grape to be similar to a merlot without the velvety textures and this wine seemed to have more acidity.
I had this wine with barbeque chicken, spicy mustard, and grilled peppers and this seemed to be an excellent combination. I would also try dark grilled fishes or lamb. enjoy

In this insane world we live in you can still find good wine just about anywhere. No Exuses. On a recent trip to Oklahoma I went on a quest to find some wine; anything other than Arbor Mist anyway. I found a little liqour store that had a not so shabby wine selection. I was [...]... - Babcock Black Label Cuvee 2002 Syrah
Ummm Ummm good. This is an exciting wine. Complex, yet “Simple and True”. It’s an inside joke within my family to call a wine “Simple and True”. I believe the story is that my Dad encountered some weird wine snob at a winery out west, who had several meaningless terms to describe a wine. Anyway, [...]... - Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi 2002 Merlot
I know I have said in the past that I dislike Merlots but after drinking this wine I really have to reconsider. I had some lasagna while tasting this wine and I don’t think I could have found a better match. I could definately pick up on the blackberry and plum aromas described on the [...]... - San Andres Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
Good taste and inexpensive! I’m a frequent shopper at Trader Joe’s. There always seem to be something new and interesting every time I visit. One drawback is that it makes going to the grocery store around the corner a very dull experience. My recent find at Trader Joe’s is a Chilean wine, San Andres Cabernet [...]... - Estrella Cabernet Sauvignon 2002 Proprietor’s Reserve
Wow, no writers-block created with this wine. After trying this baby I could not resist the urge to tell people about it. At $7.99, $8.99, $9.99 or well um er I don’t remember how much I paid for this gem, but let me tell you it was worth every penny. The nose has a distinct [...]...
