Bogle Cabernet Sauvignon 2003
March 22nd, 2007
I tried this wine a couple of nights ago and each time I would leave a little left to give it a second chance the next night. It is hard to find a Bogle that I like. After hearing such good things, I am not sure if I have the right “BOGLE” wine or that I have lost my superhuman wine powers. I hear that Bogle’s old vine Zinfandel is one of their best wines. I will have to try it and give it a bad review also.
At 11.99, I had high expectations for this cab. As we have repeated in class before, price does not imply quality. The color is a deep red, obviously. I thought the aromas where clean, warm, and fruity. The taste was kind of thin, but even throughout, ending with heavy textures and tannin. This wine seems pretty uneventful and lacking in character.
I had this wine with lasagna and it did not seem to make any compliments to my meal. Shame on you Bogle. Try with snake, sharkfin, or cats feet. I can’t wait to get my hands on their old vine zinfandel.

I was really excited to try this wine because I have heard great things. I thought the price was a little much, but in the name of science, I was willing to give it a try. The color is a dark ruby and the legs were consistant with a 13.5% ALC Merlot. The aromas are [...]... - Folie a Deux Cabernet Sauvignon 2003
Wow. I was not expecting to be swept off my feet on such a hot summer day while sweating my ass off. I definitely put this Cabernet Sauvignon on one of my highest pedestals. I was overwhelmed by the intense chocolate cherry aromas. The body was smooth and silky with velvety textures and well-balanced tannins. [...]... - Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi Zinfandel 2004
Could a Robert Mondavi wine disappoint? It’s quite possible, but not likely. I was excited to try this wine since I paid $7.99, but I am sure you could find this around $6.00. Never be fooled by price my friends as it is very easy to have high expectations and then quickly end up dissapointed. [...]... - Collage Cabernet-Merlot 2003
In this insane world we live in you can still find good wine just about anywhere. No Exuses. On a recent trip to Oklahoma I went on a quest to find some wine; anything other than Arbor Mist anyway. I found a little liqour store that had a not so shabby wine selection. I was [...]... - Estrella Cabernet Sauvignon 2002 Proprietor’s Reserve
Wow, no writers-block created with this wine. After trying this baby I could not resist the urge to tell people about it. At $7.99, $8.99, $9.99 or well um er I don’t remember how much I paid for this gem, but let me tell you it was worth every penny. The nose has a distinct [...]...
