Barefoot Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon
March 11th, 2006
A suprisingly good wine.
I was recommended to try this wine by a fellow wine lover, who isn’t too keen on most Cabernets he’s tried. His reason for not liking Cabernet Sauvignon so much is from the many ones that seem to have overly bold tannins without offering much more.
With this in mind I was a bit hesitant to make the purchase, since my attraction to Cabernet Sauvignon is the bold deep flavors and Barefoot did not disappoint.
The smell of the wine seems very light. It has a sweeter-than-most start, but a great bold finish, that seems to end quickly. This isn’t a sharp or overly oaky Cabernet, although it’s not a pussy either. This is a Cabernet through and through.
According to the label:
“Barefoot Cabernet Sauvignon is a jammy wine with robust flavors of wild berries and currants. Hints of toasted oak and clove enhance the velvety smooth finish
Barefoot Cabernet Sauvignon is perfect with beef, lamb, red suace pastas and sharp cheeses. Outstanding!”

I am not much of zinfandel drinker so you may get more from this wine than I did. If you enjoy heartier and more robust flavors, then this grape can be more satisfiying than a cabernet or merlot. As for the the Barefoot Zinfandel, at a value of $5.00, I felt it made the whole [...]... - Hardys Stamp of Australia Cabernet Sauvignon
Thank you Australia, for keeping money in my pocket and wine in my belly! Around here we have a fast food chain known as Hardee’s, also known in other parts of The States as Carl’s Jr. They are a run-of-the-mill burger joint, mediocre food, mediocre service. Exactly what HardYs is NOT. This is one of [...]... - San Andres Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
Good taste and inexpensive! I’m a frequent shopper at Trader Joe’s. There always seem to be something new and interesting every time I visit. One drawback is that it makes going to the grocery store around the corner a very dull experience. My recent find at Trader Joe’s is a Chilean wine, San Andres Cabernet [...]... - Folie a Deux Cabernet Sauvignon 2003
Wow. I was not expecting to be swept off my feet on such a hot summer day while sweating my ass off. I definitely put this Cabernet Sauvignon on one of my highest pedestals. I was overwhelmed by the intense chocolate cherry aromas. The body was smooth and silky with velvety textures and well-balanced tannins. [...]... - Grayson Cellars Merlot 2004
Went to the Corner Wine Bar today and had some wine. Kinda cool setup where you can order a “wine sampler” and try several different wines that the bar sells. I don’t recommend going there on a ninety degree day though because it ruins the whole experience trying to ejoy a Cabernet while sweating your [...]...
